The Challenge: A Neglected Beauty

When the Ferrari 246 Dino arrived at our workshop, it was a shadow of its former self. The once-vibrant paint was faded and chipped, the engine barely sputtered, and the interior was a tattered remnant of its luxurious past. The Dino, a model celebrated for its sleek design and engineering prowess, had unfortunately suffered years of neglect. The task ahead was monumental: to transform this deteriorated relic into a pristine example of automotive excellence.

SB Race Engineering: A Legacy of Excellence

At SB Race Engineering, our team boasts decades of combined experience in everything Ferrari. We have tackled numerous high-profile projects, each time delivering results that exceed expectations. Our specialists are not just mechanics; they are artisans who understand the intricate details and unique characteristics of each Ferrari model. This profound knowledge and passion for Ferraris drive us to restore each vehicle to its original splendor.

The Restoration Process: Precision and Passion

Restoring the 246 Dino was a meticulous process that demanded precision and dedication. The project began with a thorough assessment of the car’s condition, followed by a comprehensive plan to address every aspect of its restoration. Our team disassembled the vehicle to its core components,  to ensure authenticity and accuracy in the rebuild.

The engine, the heart of the Dino, underwent a complete overhaul. Every component was either restored to factory specifications or replaced with genuine parts. Our skilled engineers fine-tuned the engine, ensuring it roared back to life with the power and grace synonymous with the Ferrari name.

The bodywork required extensive attention. The rust and damage were carefully removed, and the body was painstakingly restored to its original lines and curves. A flawless paint job, returned to its the colour, was applied, bringing back the car’s stunning visual appeal.

The interior received the same level of care. Original materials were sourced to restore the upholstery, ensuring that the cabin exuded the luxury and elegance Ferrari owners expect. From the stitching on the seats to the placement of the dashboard dials, every detail was crafted to mirror the Dino’s original design.

 2022

Unfortunately the Dino project never quite made the finish. It’s currently in storage waiting for the owner to carry on. The whole team are keen to see the car and done back out on the road. Hopefully it won’t be too long.. we will keep you posted.
