The McLaren 675LT is one of the highest-performing cars in McLaren’s range, yet there is still measurable untapped potential within the factory calibration. Velocity AP’s ECU tuning for the 675LT was developed over two full days of intensive testing, using both AWD dyno sessions and extensive road testing to ensure not only strong power gains, but also excellent drivability and seamless OEM integration.
This calibration includes advanced functionality such as allowing simultaneous throttle and brake input. This enables left-foot braking techniques and brake-boosting while rolling, allowing the turbos to spool while the car is held on the brakes. The result is significantly reduced turbo lag, particularly beneficial for roll-on acceleration and high-performance driving scenarios.
Despite the 675LT’s already impressive output, testing showed substantial gains were still available. On an AWD Mustang dyno, the vehicle produced a baseline of 539 wheel horsepower. Following ECU tuning, output increased to 591 wheel horsepower, representing gains of 62 WHP and 68 WTQ. Based on drivetrain calculations, this equates to approximately 767 bhp at the crank. The test vehicle was fitted with sport catalysts and an exhaust system during development.
Dyno data shows a minor dip at the very top end of the power curve, attributed to intake air temperature increases caused by limited airflow from dyno fans. This effect was not observed during extensive road testing and datalogging, and is not present in real-world driving conditions.
As the official UK dealer, we supply and install the Velocity AP ECU tuning in-house, offering McLaren 675LT owners a proven, thoroughly tested performance upgrade that delivers exceptional results without compromising reliability or drivability.
