2008 Ferrari F430 Challenge
The Ferrari F430 Challenge is a non-road legal version of the standard Ferrari F430, extensively modified by Ferrari to enhance its on-track performance. These modifications include significant weight reduction and suspension upgrades. Like previous Ferrari Challenge models, the engine remains largely unchanged from the production road car, aside from improved breathing through a racing exhaust system, engine management tweaks, and precise blueprinting. The body styling features only minor changes, highlighted by Formula One-inspired single central nut BBS wheels that house the massive carbon-ceramic brakes.
This particular F430 Challenge is fitted with SBR’s aero kit, which includes a deep front bumper for improved cooling, a carbon front splitter, and a rear wing. Additional upgrades beyond the original Challenge specification include adjustable Öhlins dampers (developed by SBR for our 430 GTC car), uprated engine ECUs, an improved gearshift with TCU, a passenger seat, a repackable race exhaust system, and a steel brake conversion. We have meticulously maintained this car since 2009, and know it intimately. Having recently undergone a full fluid change and engine service, the car is race-ready and comes with two sets of wheels (note: new tyres will be required).
SBR campaigned this car for several years, achieving numerous podium finishes in Britcar, GT Cup, and the Ferrari Pirelli Open. A new engine was installed in 2011, which has only been raced four times since, covering just 2,100 km. In 2016, the car was semi-retired and has seen only occasional track day use since then.
