As we enter into the winter months its time to asses our active race cars and see what work is needed to keep them up to date and safe.
This month sees the very rare McLaren MP4-12C GT Can Am car retire form being one of our "stand in" race cars. We went through the car for front to back. The engine has been checked and no major work was needed, as it has covered very few miles from new. The gearbox was removed to asses wear, and check the clutch, which was replace.
With some light stone chips and scuffs we decided to repaint the bumpers etc and re-fit the original Can Am press launch deals. The car had a new ATL FIA fuel tank fitted to bring all aspects of the car inline with regulations of tracing in Europe.
The owner is unsure if he will use the car again, as this era of GT3 derived car is not competitive against modern machinery, so 2025 could be the year this very rare car goes up for sale!
