As we head into the winter months, it’s the ideal time to review our active race cars and ensure they remain fully prepared, up to date, and compliant for future use.
This month marked a new chapter for the exceptionally rare McLaren MP4-12C GT Can-Am, which has been part of our fleet as a highly capable stand-in race car. The car was thoroughly inspected from front to back. The engine was checked and found to be in excellent health, having covered very few miles from new. The gearbox was removed to assess overall wear and inspect the clutch, which was replaced as part of the process.
Cosmetically, the car received attention where needed, with the bumpers refinished to address light stone chipping and scuffs, before being refitted with the original Can-Am press launch decals. In addition, a new ATL FIA fuel tank was installed, ensuring the car meets current European racing regulations across all key areas.
Looking ahead, the owner is considering future plans for the car. With its rarity, provenance, and meticulous upkeep, 2025 could see this outstanding example made available for sale — offering a unique opportunity to acquire a truly special piece of modern GT racing history.
